Mapletoft Recalled By Islanders

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Center Justin Mapletoft by the Islanders.
Mapletoft leads the Sound Tigers with a +14. He has also posted 12 goals, 22 assists, 34 points and 39 penalty minutes in 55 games with the Sound Tigers, as well as one goal, two assists, three points and two penalty minutes in eight games with the Islanders this season scoring his first NHL goal on October 30th in the Islanders' 4-2 road loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Sound Tigers will host the Springfield Falcons this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Binghamton Senators this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. This weekend will be "Islanders Appreciation Weekend" at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard with discounted tickets for Islanders' fans, special "Islanders Appreciation Weekend" uniforms being worn by the Sound Tigers, appearances by former Islanders Clark Gillies and Jean Potvin, an auction of the special jerseys and an autograph session with the Sound Tigers following Sunday's game.
