West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats defeated the Fresno Grizzlies, 8-6, at Raley Field on Monday night, the team's first home game since clinching the PCL'C Pacific Conference Southern Division Crown on Sunday in Fresno. The win gives the River Cats their largest division lead of the season, 11.0 games over 2nd place Fresno. Jairo Garcia, who struck out two in his perfect ninth inning, earned his 19th save of the season - a new River Cats record (previous record of 18 was set by Chad Harville in 2003). The middle of the Cats lineup (4-5 hitters Bobby Smith and Brant Colmarino) went a combined 7-for-9 with 4 RBI on the night to pace the Sacramento offense. The River Cats and Grizzlies square off again on Tuesday, as RHP Mike Saipe (4-0, 2.83) takes the mound for Sacramento against Fresno's RHP Seung Song (1-3, 4.17).
