
Birds set to make final push for playoffs

Memphis welcomes Nashville and Albuquerque to AutoZone Park as the âBirds make a final push to the PCL playoffs. Currently 4.5 games back Nashville, Memphis begins the homestand with four games against the Sounds. For the season, the Redbirds are 5-7 against Nashville but took three out of four during their first meeting at AutoZone Park. Following the showdown with rival Nashville, the Redbirds take on Albuquerque for the final-four game series. Memphis looks to improve on the 2-6 record against the Isotopes with their playoff lives on the line. HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS: Working Money Weeknight by First Tennessee Tuesday, August 30 is always a treat for fans as the first 1500 through the gates receive envelopes that contain anywhere from $1 to $100. The hilarious antics of the Zooperstars also take centerstage Friday, September 2nd as they provide family-friendly comedy throughout the game. THE BOMBS BURSTING IN AIR: Sunday, September 4th will be the final firework show of the season and is presented by The Great American Home Store. Following the game versus Albuquerque, fans will be treated to an exciting fireworks display at AutoZone Park. SUPERSTAR BOBBLEHEAD MANIA MONDAYS: On Monday, August 29 the first 1500 fans will receive Albert Pujols Bobbleheads. The former Memphis Redbird is a National League MVP candidate this season and the most popular member of the St. Louis Cardinals. Also, on Monday September 5, former National League MVP and key Cardinal outfielder Larry Walker bobbleheads will be given away to the first 1500 fans through the gates. APPRECIATION NIGHTS: Just days before the University of Memphis kicks off their season, U of M appreciation night will be held at AutoZone Park Wednesday, August 31. On Saturday, September 3 the Redbirds will host Latino Night for an evening of multicultural fun.
