Relief efforts continue for Grrrowl supporters

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers have announced that the fundraising efforts that were announced last week, will continue through Tuesday, January 11, 2005 a the BI-LO Center. The organization will work with the American Red Cross to raise funds for the International Response Fund.

The players and staff will begin the fundraising efforts by making personal donations to Center Ice Charities, earmarked for the Red Cross IRF for the Tsunami and earthquake disaster in Southeast Asia and Africa. Greenville plays at home on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday – all games are 7:05pm starts. Representative from the ARC will be on hand for the next three games to assist with collection efforts.

The Greenville Booster Club extends their fund-raising efforts with a special jersey auction on Saturday night. The Grrrowl will wear the new jerseys on Saturday when they host the Columbia Inferno. These jerseys are provided by the Booster Club and will be used to raise funds for their organization as the season progresses. The fans will see the jerseys for the first time this weekend, and the Booster Club will auction one jersey at the game, with all proceeds going to the Tsunami and earthquake disaster in Southeast Asia and Africa, channeled through Center Ice Charities and the ARC International Response Fund.

Fans can go to the Booster Club Table at section 121 to participate in the auction process at the game on Saturday.

The Grrrowl return to the BI-LO Center on Friday for a 7:05 p.m. game against Division-leading Pee Dee Pride, and on Saturday night (7:05pm) to host the Columbia Inferno. The Greenville Grrrowl will be collecting monetary donations at the next three home games, with the proceeds being given to Center Ice Charities. Center Ice will immediately forward the money on towards the American Red Cross International Response Fund to benefit Tsunami and Earthquake Victims in Southeast Asia.
