
Bombers Take Storm To Shootout; Lose 3-2 Decision

The Dayton Bombers suffered a 3-2 shootout loss to the Toledo Storm in front of 5,873 at the Nutter Center Friday night. It was the largest crowd of the season for the Bombers at home.
Dayton spotted Toledo a 2-0 lead with two powerplay goals from the Storm. Scooter Smith gave Toledo a 1-0 lead at 14:13 of the first period. Then, Tyler Knight made it 2-0 at 11:33 of the second period.
JANNE JOKILA put the Bombers on the board when he buried a rebound after Mike Schutte was stopped by Storm goaltender Scott Fankhouser at 15:04 of period two.
Jokila, then, drew a holding penalty on Jason Josza late in the third period. With 2:26 remaining, AARON FOSTER tied the game, 2-2, with his sixth goal of the season. There was no scoring in overtime. The only goal in the shootout came from Toledo's third shooter â Scooter Smith â and the Storm won 3-2.
The Bombers return to action tomorrow (Saturday) night when they travel to Toledo to face the Storm at 7:30 PM. Audio coverage at daytonbombers.com
