
Ford Named CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots are proud to announced that goalie Todd Ford has been named the CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month for December.
Ford, who is 20 years old, made six appearances in goal for the Ice Pilots in December, posting a record of 5-0-0 with a 1.58 goals against average and .954 save percentage in the five games he started.
Ford began the month with four straight wins making 27 saves in a 4-1 win over Mississippi on December 3 and a career-high 43 saves in a 3-2 win at Texas on December 11. He had 23 saves in a 3-1 win against Louisiana on December 18 and made 39 saves in a 6-4 win at Florida on December 22.
Relieving Frederic Cloutier in the first period against Florida on December 28, Ford stopped all 23 shots he faced in a 3-1 loss. He closed out the! month making 31 saves in a 2-1 win against Charlotte on December 30.
Ford was drafted in the third round by the Toronto Maple Leafs and was the 74th player taken overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Ford was also Runner-Up for the ECHL National Bank Saver of the Month for the month of December.
The Ice Pilots will play home to Louisiana tonight and Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Tonight fans will have the opportunity to win two tickets to the game vs. Louisiana on Saturday night sponsored by Black Tie Bridal.
Saturday night's home game is "Elvis Night." Fans are asked to dress like Elvis on Saturday night and a contest will take place during the intermission with prizes to be given away. It is also a Florida Lottery Second Chance Night. The first 100 fans who bring $5 worth of non winning Florida Lottery tickets to the Civic Center box office will receive a ticket to the game.
