January 7, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. - The ECHL announced on Thursday the roster for the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Team, which included LW Connor James from the Bakersfield Condors.
James, 22, is in his rookie season, joining the Condors from the Los Angeles Kings, who selected him in the ninth round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He was second on the team in scoring through 17 games this season when he was recalled to Manchester in the American Hockey League. The Calgary native has 9g-10a-19pts and leads the team with a +10 rating in 24 games with Bakersfield this year.
The Condors reclaimed first place in the West Division on Wednesday night, and James recorded a goal and an assist in the victory over the Trenton Titans. He is tied for the league rookie lead with three shorthanded points and is tied for second among rookies with two shorthanded goals. His first career goal was scored shorthanded on October 24th in Long Beach. He was selected the ECHL's Rookie of the Month and the Kern Trophies Condor of the Month in October.
James is the second Condor to play in an ECHL All-Star Game, with C Andrew Ianiero representing the team last season. The Skills Competition will take place on January 25th and the game will be played on January 26th at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The Condors continue their East Coast swing with a game against the Reading Royals tonight at 4:05 p.m. Pacific Time. They return home on Saturday, January 15th against Las Vegas for the final meeting between the two at Centennial Garden. The top four most penalized Condors games of the season have all been against the Wranglers. That game is Nip & Puck Night, featuring a personal makeover giveaway sponsored by Bright House Networks, The Big 96.5 and Shannti Medispa. One lucky fan will receive the makeover package, with options of their choice valued at $8,000.
Season ticket, mini-plans and group outings can still be reserved by contacting the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825) for more information. Individual game tickets can be purchased through the Centennial Garden box office, which opens at 10:00 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.
