The Bakersfield Condors fell 2-1 in a shootout to the San Jose Barracuda in preseason action on Friday.

After allowing just one shot in the first period, the Condors found themselves in a 1-0 hole midway through the second period on a Tristan Sarsland goal. Bakersfield responded on the power play when Daniel D'Amato (1st) hit the back of the net from the right-wing circle.

After a scoreless third and overtime, Matt Davis turned aside all three shootout shots to give San Jose a 2-1 victory.

Samuel Jonsson started and stopped all eight shots he faced in a half game of work. Nathan Day was 12 of 13 in the second half.

Earlier in the day, 11 players were assigned to Bakersfield, including captain Seth Griffith and all-AHL Rookie Team selection Quinn Hutson.
