
Three Assigned to Chiefs; Packard Recalled to Springfield

The Springfield Falcons, American Hockey League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, today announced that left wing Dennis Packard has been recalled from the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL. The club also announced that defenseman Doug O'Brien and left wings Adam Henrich and Jean-Francois Soucy have been assigned to Johnstown.
Packard, 22, registered seven points (3g, 4a) and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 15 games with Johnstown this season. The 6-4, 234-pound rookie forward skated in four games with the Falcons earlier this season and did not figure in any scoring. Packard was selected in the seventh round (219th overall) by the Lightning in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. The St. Catharines, Ontario native registered 66 points (32g, 34a) and 110 PIM in 131 games over four seasons at Harvard University prior to becoming a professional.
Packard will be available for Springfield's game at home Friday night against Providence.
O'Brien, 20, has recorded six points (1g, 5a) and 29 PIM in 32 games with the Falcons as a rookie this season. The St. John's, Newfoundland native was chosen in the sixth round (192nd overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Lightning.
Henrich, 20, has collected 16 points (6g, 10a) and 32 PIM in 34 contests with Springfield this season. A native of Thornhill, Ontario, the rookie forward was selected by Tampa Bay in the second round (60th overall) of the 2002 NHL Draft.
Soucy, 21, has registered an assist and 122 PIM with the Falcons this season â his second as a professional. A native of Riviere Du Loup, Quebec, Soucy was chosen in the eighth round (252nd overall) in 2001 by the Lightning.
All three players will be available for the Chiefs game Friday night at home against Trenton.
Fter tonight's game with Trenton, the Chiefs are back in action tomorrow night when they host the Bakersfield Condors at 7:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon they host the Reading Royals at 3:00 p.m. Sunday is also a Heluva Good Quality Foods Kid's Sunday. All children's tickets are just $1. Following the game there will be a "Skate With the Chiefs," and autograph session with the entire team. Skate rentals will not be available.
