Coming Up This Week: Richmond Tuesday, January 7 7:00 North Charleston Coliseum The Stingrays are 3-3-1 against the Northern Conference this season and 1-1-0 at home. This is the first of a home and home series between these two teams and the first meeting of the season between the two. South Carolina has lost two straight at home.

Renegades have a home record of 12-6-0 on the season. The Renegades average 3.14 goals for per game and 3.22 goals against per game. South Carolina is 10-5-2 on the road this season.

Trenton Friday, January 10 7:30 North Charleston Coliseum Rematch of the 2001 Kelly Cup Finals. Trenton has its fourth Head Coach in four seasons in Bill Armstrong. Titans are 4-9-2 on the road this season.

@ Columbia Saturday, January 11 7:05 Carolina Coliseum

This is the sixth game of the season between these two teams. The Rays have a record of 2-2-1 against Columbia, while the Inferno is 3-2-0 against the Rays.

Last Week in Review: The Stingrays began the week with a 3-2 home win over the Pee Dee Pride on Tuesday night. Mike Jickling netted the game-winning goal in the third period on the power play for the Stingrays. On Friday night, the Stingrays watched the Pride score three third period goals to win 5-2. Matt Reid had the second hat trick of the season against South Carolina in the loss. The team finished off the week with a 5-2 loss at home to the Greenville Grrrowl, dropping the squad into third place.

Team Notes:

South Carolina has now lost two straight games. The team has not lost three games in a row this season. The Stingrays still have a better road record (10-5-2) than home record (10-7-1). The Rays area 17-9-2 this season against the Southeast Division, but only 9-6-1 at home within the division. South Carolina has been out shot in 23 of its 35 games this year. The team is 13-8-2 when it is out shot in a game. The Rays have slipped to 18th in the league on team defense, allowing 3.34 goals against per game. On offense the team is ranked eighth, averaging 3.60 goals for per contest.

Players:

Rod Taylor had one assist on the week and inched closer to Darryl Noren's all time ECHL point total of 685. Taylor now has 681 career points. He has eleven points on five goals and six assists in seventeen games with South Carolina. Kirk Daubenspeck still leads the ECHL in wins with 19. He has started all but five games for the Stingrays this season. Dave Seitz has scored 199 goals in a Stingrays uniform. No player has ever scored 200 in a Stingrays uniform.
