Johnstown Chiefs News Release


The Johnstown Chiefs (14-18-5; 33 PTS; 5th NW div.) Snapped their seven game winless streak this week, by getting five out of six points on the week. The Chiefs had a shootout win over Richmond, a shootout loss to Atlantic City, and a win at Trenton Saturday night. This week the Chiefs will play three games in three nights; Friday night at Wheeling, Saturday night at home versus Lexington, and Sunday night at Dayton.

GAME #35 (12/31/02) JOHNSTOWN 2 – Richmond 1 Aubry 21 Saves

The Chiefs snapped their seven game winless streak with a 2-1 shootout win on New Year's Eve versus Richmond. Jeff Sullivan scored the only Johnstown goal. Peter Aubry made 21 saves for the Chiefs. Johnstown won the shootout 2-0. Peter Hogan scored for the Renegades while Marc Magliarditi made 39 saves.

GAME #36 (1/3/03) ATLANTIC CITY 4 – Johnstown 3 (SO) Boutin Goal, Two Assists

J.F. Boutin and am St. Pierre each had a goal and two assists as the Chiefs fell in a shootout 4-3, Friday night at Atlantic City. P.L. Courchesne scored the other Johnstown goal. Peter Aubry made 46 saves in the game. Jim Henkel, Shawn Maltby and Jade Galbraith scored for Atlantic City. The Bullies out shot the Chiefs 49-41.

GAME #37 (1/4/03) Johnstown 3 – TRENTON 2 Smital Two Goals

Brent Bilodeau's power play goal with just 1:54 remaining in regulation broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Chiefs a 3-2 win, at Trenton Saturday night. Lukas Smital scored the other two Johnstown goals. Peter Aubry made 21 saves for the victory. Steve Hildenbrand had two assists in the game.

The Chiefs and the Wheeling Nailers (14-22-3; 31 PTS, 6th NW div.)face-off for the fifth of eight meetings this season Friday night, in Wheeling. The Chiefs are 2-1-1 against the Nailers this season and 54-54-15 all-time. The Nailers are currently in sixth place in the Northwest division. Wheeling has lost two straight games and are 4-5-1 in their last ten games.

The Johnstown Chiefs and the Lexington Men O'War (16-15-5; 37 PTS, 4th NW div.) will face-off for the fifth time this season Saturday night. The Chiefs are 1-2-1 versus Lexington this season. The MOW have outscored the Chiefs 12-10 this season. The MOW are 4-5-1 in their last ten games.

Sunday night the Chiefs will travel to Ohio to take on the Dayton Bombers (12-19-7; 31 PTS, 7th NW div.). The Chiefs are 5-0-0 against the Bombers this season. Johnstown has out scored Dayton 24-11. Three of the Johnstown wins have come at the Nutter Center. Dayton is winless in their last four games (0-3-1), and just 2-4-4 in their last ten games. The Chiefs are 37-41-7 all-time against the Bombers.
