Gulls Jump Ahead in the Standings

The Condors traveled down to San Diego on Friday to attempt to put an end to the Gulls 10-game winning streak, and reclaim sole possession of second place, but it was not to be on this night. R.J. Enga scored a pair of power play goals and Trevor Koenig stopped all 39 Bakersfield shots in a 2-0 loss at the San Diego Sports Arena. Joel Martin started between the pipes for Bakersfield stopping 25 shots in his professional debut. The game featured only 12 total minutes in penalties, and the Gulls scored on both of their power play opportunities. The Condors have been shut out twice this season.

This Week

The Condors return home for a pair of games this weekend, starting on Friday, January 10th, when they host the Fresno Falcons at 7:00pm. On that night, the first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a Condors three-ring notebook, sponsored by Spanish Radio Group and American Business Machines.

On Saturday, the Condors host the Anchorage Aces in a 7:00pm start. The Centennial Garden crowd will be entertained by the outrageous ZOOperstars, brought to you by Time Warner Cable, KGEO AM 1230 and Rio Bravo Country Club. The 10-foot tall mascot characters, such as Snail Earnhardt, Jr., Dominick Hashark, Mackerel Jordan, Shaquille O'Seal, Clammy Sosa and Ichiroach Suzuki bring their wackiness back to the Garden.

Saturday's game is also the third Colonel Claw'd's Kid's Club game of the season. All members of the kid's club, sponsored by Time Warner Cable, Bakersfield Californian and John's Incredible Pizza receive free admission to the contest. Time Warner Cable subscribers can also purchase tickets for just $5 with their Time Warner Cable Family Night coupon, included in this month's bill.

Individual tickets can be purchased at the Centennial Garden Box Office, by calling Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at ticketmaster.com or stopping by any Ticketmaster location. Season and group tickets may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825) or by visiting the Condors office next to Centennial Garden.
