Bakersfield Condors News Release
Upcoming week of January 6th - January 12th:
· Wednesday, January 8th - Condors players Nate Anderson and Jason Jackman, will be visiting Redwood Elementary School as a part of their Community Reader Program. The Condors will be reading to special needs children as well as first grade students from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm. Redwood Elementary is located at 331 North Shafter Avenue in Shafter.
· Thursday, January 9th - The Condors will hold a media roundtable at John's Incredible Pizza from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. Condors Head Coach Paul Kelly, as well as Condors players Jimmy Drolet and Jason Ralph will be in attendance. John's Incredible Pizza is located at 3709 Rosedale Highway. Any media wishing to attend are asked to contact Kevin Bartl at 324-PUCK (7825).
· Thursday, January 9th - Join the "Voice of the Condors", Kevin Bartl as he hosts the Condors Coach's Show on KGEO AM 1230 live from the Holiday Inn Select's Q Street Bistro from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Head Coach Paul Kelly and Condors players will be the guests on the show. The Holiday Inn Select is located at 801 Truxtun, on the corner of Q Street and Truxtun.
· Friday, January 10th - Join the Condors as they host the Fresno Falcons for Spanish Radio Group & American Business Machines Notebook Giveaway Night. The first 2,000 children 12 and under, will receive a Condors 3-ring Notebook. Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00 am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden. The doors open at 6:00 pm, the puck drops at 7:00 pm.
· Saturday, January 11th - Time Warner Cable, KGEO AM 1230 & Rio Bravo Country Club present the ZOOperstars! See 10-foot tall mascot characters Snail Earnhardt, Jr., Dominik Hashark, Mackerel Jordan, Shaquille O'Seal, Clammy Sosa, and Ichiroach Suzuki entertain children of all ages as the Condors take on the Anchorage Aces. Also, Time Warner Cable will be hosting its Family Night as subscribers receive $5.00 admission per person by presenting the coupon available in their cable bill. The game is also the third Time Warner Cable, Bakersfield Californian & John's Incredible Pizza Colonel Claw'd Kids Club Night. All club members receive free admission. The night also includes KERN 1410 & Holiday Inn Select DARE Night. Students graduation from the DARE program receive complimentary admission to tonight's game. The doors open at 6:00 pm, the puck drops at 7:00 pm.
Week in Review, December 30th - January 5th:
· Tuesday, December 31st - Condors Director of Community Relations, John Ayre, read at the "First Night", Bakersfield Celebration as part of the GET Reading program. Each session lasted for 25 minutes and began on the hour and half-hour from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

· Feeling artistic? Now is your chance to design a Condors jersey. Send us your best artwork for our "Jersey Off Our Back" raffle and auction to benefit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Kern County, sponsored by KLLY 95.3 and The Bakersfield Californian. If we pick your design it will be used to design the jerseys the Condors will wear on Saturday, March 15, 2003 vs. the Idaho Steelheads. Plus you will win six tickets to that night's game, an actual jersey you designed customized with your name and number, and you'll get to drop the ceremonial first puck. The entries must be postmarked by today. There is no age limit for entrants, and for more information, contact the Condors office at 324-PUCK (7825).
· Co-Host the Condors Coach's Show! This is your chance to sit along side the "Voice of the Condors", Kevin Bartl and co-host the Condors Coach's Show LIVE from the Holiday Inn Select's Q Street Bistro. Log onto www.bakersfieldcondors.com to place your bid. Proceeds go to benefit the American Red Cross - Kern County Chapter.
· January 15th, 2003 is KGET-TV 17, KRAB Radio & The Gas Company Project Warm Families Night. Receive one free terrace ticket with the donation of a new or slightly used coat. Bring your coats that night, or drop them off in advance at the Condors Closet Retail Outlet located at 1022 Truxtun Avenue, across from Centennial Garden. The coats are donated to needy families though the United Way of Kern County.
· If you can't make it out to the game, all Friday home games are televised live on Time Warner Cable Ch. 21 (digital 21) with the next game this Friday, January 10, 2003.
