
Everblades Remain on Top of Division

Florida Everblades News Release
The Florida Everblades fell 2-1 to the Columbus Cottonmouths in overtime on New Year's Eve at TECO Arena, were defeated 5-2 by the Columbia Inferno on Friday night and split the weekend series with the Inferno after upending them 4-1 on Saturday night. With the1-1-1 week Florida remained in first place in the ECHL's Southeast Division. The Everblades take on the Pensacola Ice Pilots at TECO Arena on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM. Florida then battles the Pee Dee Pride in South Carolina on Friday at 7:30 PM and the Augusta Lynx in a pair of games in Augusta on Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 7:30 PM. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play-by-play. 'The Gerry Fleming Coaches Show' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage on Sportsradio 770 AM airs on 770 AM from 6:30 - 7:30 PM on Monday nights. The show will be live on remote in Naples for the next six shows. Tonight's guest will be Terry Lindgren.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Ice Pilots will meet for the fourth time this season. Florida holds a 3-0-0 record against them this season and a 2-0-0 record at TECO. Pensacola currently ranks in 5th place in the Southwest Division standings while Florida ranks first in the Southeast. Florida holds a 19-5-3 record all-time against the Ice Pilots and a 11-2-2 record at TECO Arena. Forward Greg Pankewicz leads the team in scoring with 20-15-35. The Ice Pilots power play ranks 24th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 4th.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Pride will meet for the eighth time this season. Florida holds a 4-2-1 record against them this season and a 3-0-1 record at TECO. Pee Dee currently ranks in 3rd place in the Southeast Division standings. Florida holds a 16-17-3 record all-time against the Pride and a 11-6-2 record at TECO Arena. Forward Matt Reid leads the team in scoring with 17-33-50. The Pride power play ranks 22nd in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 16th.
Saturday, January 11th @ Augusta Lynx 7:30 PM/EST
GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Lynx will meet for the fifth time this season. Florida holds a 2-0-2 record against them this season and a 1-0-1 record at TECO. Augusta currently ranks in 7th place in the Southeast Division standings. Florida holds a 23-4-4 record all-time against the Lynx and a 13-2-1 record at TECO Arena. Forward Jim Shephard leads the team in scoring with 6-19-25. The Lynx power play ranks 26th in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 25th.
