Petruk Assigned to Clones

Cincinnati, OH-Cincinnati Cyclones coach and general manager Chris Cichocki today announced the acquisition of goaltender Randy Petruk (Pa-Truck). Petruk is assigned to the Cyclones by the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes.

Last season, Petruk split time between the ECHL's Florida Everblades and the American Hockey League's Lowell Lock Monsters. In six games with the Everblades, Petruk had a 3-2-1 record with a .879 save percentage and a 3.78 goals against average. In 30 games with Lowell, Petruk had a goals against average of 3.07 with a sterling .917 save percentage.

Petruk played with the International Hockey League version of the Cyclones from 1999-2001. During his previous stint in Cincinnati, Petruk played 34 games recording a 17-10-3 record with a .900 save percentage and 3.46 goals against average. Petruk's three shutouts as a Cyclone rank sixth on the organization's all-time list.

Petruk is entering his sixth season of pro hockey. In 166 career pro games, Petruk has won 74 games with 69 losses and 17 ties. He has recorded a career goals against average of 3.04 with a .906 career save percentage.

"Randy has the ability to win games by himself at this level," said Cyclones coach Chris Cichocki. "That is a vital element to building a championship team.
