
Penguins Sign Danny Federico to ATO

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today announced that they have signed defenseman Danny Federico to an amateur tryout agreement (ATO).
A senior co-captain this season at Quinnipiac University, Frederico collected two goals, nine assists and 36 penalty minutes in 38 games. The 22-year-old was a candidate for ECAC Hockey's Best Defensive Defenseman award and also helped lead the Bobcats to their third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Originally from Acton, Mass., Federico skated for four seasons at Quinnipiac from 2011-15, totaling 38 points (3G-35A) over 132 games. He was tied for the ECAC Hockey lead in 2013-14 with a +19 plus/minus rating, while ranking first on Quinnipiac in the same category during both his junior and sophomore seasons (+22).
