Lehigh Valley Phantoms News Release
Lehigh Valley, PA - The Philadelphia Flyers, parent club of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, have recalled from loan forward Jason Akeson. Philadelphia has also recalled from loan defenseman Mark Alt on an emergency basis. The Flyers conclude the 2014-2015 regular season this afternoon against the Ottawa Senators at Wells Fargo Center.
This is the third NHL recall this season for Akeson who has compiled three goals, two assists and five points in 21 career NHL outings (regular season and postseason).
The 5'10", 190-pound winger currently leads all Phantoms with 22 goals this year and is second on Lehigh Valley's roster with 51 total points. With an assist in last evening's 2-1 shootout victory over the Norfolk Admirals, Akeson moved into sole possession of fourth place on the Phantoms' all-time scoring list with 223 career points.
Meanwhile, this is the second NHL recall this year for Alt who made his NHL debut on March 28th in Philadelphia's 3-2 shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks. In 39 games with the Phantoms this season, the 23-year-old blueliner has recorded two goals, six assists, eight points and 18 penalty minutes.
