Both teams managed 9 shots in the period, but Providence had the 2-0 advantage though forty minutes.

At 7:22 of the final period, a fight broke out in the Sharks' zone between Worcester forward Matt Willows and Providence's forward Andrew Cherniwchan, resulting in fighting penalties on both sides. The Bruins added a third goal with 4:39 left in the game when right winger Tyler Randell (10th ) stuffed it in from close to give Providence the 3-0 lead. They would hold on to that lead as Bruins' goaltender Malcolm Subban picked up the shutout and his 15th win of the season.
