
Monsters Held off by IceHogs in 4-1 Loss

CLEVELAND - The AHL's Cleveland Monsters fell to the Rockford IceHogs 4-1 on Saturday night at BMO Harris Bank Center. With the loss, the Monsters are now 23-25-2-2 and are currently in eighth place in the AHL's North Division standings with 50 points.
Rockford scored two goals in the opening frame with a power-play tally from Dylan Sikura at 3:31 and a marker from Brandon Hagel at 16:27 to leave Cleveland trailing 2-0 after 20 minutes. The Monsters cut the score to 2-1 following Maxime Fortier's goal at 18:09 of the second period with helpers from Doyle Somerby and Anton Karlsson. Despite several scoring chances for the Monsters, Ian McCoshen notched a tally for the IceHogs at 7:18 of the third period in addition to Dmitry Osipov's empty-net marker at 18:57 bringing the final score to 4-1 in favor of Rockford.
Cleveland's Brad Thiessen made 22 saves in defeat while Rockford's Collin Delia stopped 27 shots in victory.
