Monarchs Game Day Capsule, March 17

March 17, 2018 - ECHL (ECHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release

PLAYOFF PICTURE

The Monarchs are in first place in the North Division with 79 points, leading the Adirondack Thunder (77), Reading Royals (74), Wheeling Nailers (69) and Worcester Railers (63). The Monarchs magic number to clinch a playoff spot is down to nine points, meaning any combination of nine points through Monarchs wins or Railers losses would lead to a Monarchs playoff berth.

ANOTHER OVERTIME?

The Grizzlies are tied for the league lead with 19 overtime games played this season and have posted four overtime wins, seven overtime losses, two shootout wins and six shootout losses. The Monarchs have played in 12 overtime games this season and have come away with seven victories, including winning their last five games that were decided in overtime.

SATURDAY STRUGGLES

Manchester has posted a 10-9-0-1 record on Saturdays this season, but has posted a record of 3-7-0-0 when they play at SNHU Arena on Saturdays. On all other days of the week, Manchester has lost only five home games in regulation this season. Two of the three times the Monarchs have been shutout this season have been posted at home on a Saturday.
