Alex Wideman Recalled to Rockford
March 17, 2018 - ECHL (ECHL) - Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs announced Saturday that they have recalled forward Alex Wideman from the ECHL's Indy Fuel.
Wideman, 26, ranks fourth on the Fuel roster in point scoring this season with 39 points (15g, 24a) in 47 games, leading all Indy skaters with 16 power play points. The third-year forward earns his second AHL call-up of 2017-18 after registering points in 13 of 15 games since being reassigned to the Fuel back on Feb. 16. Wideman found the scoresheet in eight straight games (3g, 10a) from Feb. 16-27 to begin his latest stint with Indy, amassing a total of 18 points (6g, 12a).
With the IceHogs this season, the St. Louis native has appeared in 10 games, collecting nine shots and two penalty minutes.
Indy concludes its weekend schedule Saturday night on home ice against the ECHL-leading Toledo Walleye. Puck drop from Indiana Farmers Coliseum is set for 7:35 p.m. ET.
