Memphis Redbirds News Release

MEMPHIS, TN - The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game road trip against the Indianapolis Indians on Thursday night with a 3-2 loss at Victory Field.

Memphis jumped on the board immediately in the top of the first inning. Outfielder Chase Pinder laced a single to bring home outfielder Richie Palacios to give the Redbirds the lead. Pinder and Palacios finished the night with a combined three of the Memphis five hits.

Shortstop Juniel Querecuto came to the plate in the top of the eighth inning following a second baseman Taylor Motter triple with a chance to tie the game. Querecuto drilled an automatic double to even the score at 2-2.

Michael McGreevy posted yet another quality start on Thursday night. The right-handed pitcher tossed 6.2 innings, allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits, walked two and struck out one. Indianapolis scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning on a sacrifice fly.

The Redbirds (41-43) return to AutoZone Park on Friday, July 14 to continue a six-game homestand at 7:05p.m. CDT against the Nashville Sounds.
