
Knights Fall to Jumbo Shrimp 6-0 on Thursday Night

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped game three of a six-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp by a score of 6-0 on Thursday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The loss was Charlotte's third in as many days and the team fell to 1-7 in the second half.
LHP Garrett Davila (2-4, 5.40) started the game for the Knights and was saddled with the loss after he allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits over 5.2 innings pitched. Chicago White Sox LHP Garrett Crochet began a major league rehab stint with the Knights on Thursday and allowed one run on two hits over 1.2 innings pitched. Crochet struck out four batters on the night and threw 38 pitches (23 for strikes).
Offensively for the Knights, the team tallied just five hits on the evening. Catcher Sebastián Rivero recorded a double in the contest for the Knights.
The Jumbo Shrimp used the long ball on Thursday, getting home runs from Peyton Burdick and Paul McIntosh. Additionally, Xavier Edwards also had a solid day at the plate for the 'Shrimp. He recorded a game-high three hits on the night. RHP Ronald Bolaños (3-8, 7.44) earned the win after he started and tossed six shutout innings.
The Knights will continue the six-game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins) on Friday night with a 7:04 p.m. game from Truist Field.
