Manchester Monarchs News Release
LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have agreed to terms on a three-year entry-level contract with defenseman Andrew Campbell, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Campbell was the club's third round selection (74th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.
Campbell, 20, recently finished his first training camp with the Kings and he was assigned to the Monarchs on September 29. Manchester released him from his amateur tryout agreement on October 8 and he returned to his junior team. Campbell will rejoin the Monarchs on Saturday.
Campbell, a 6-foot-4, 196-pound native of Caledonia, Ontario, played with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) during the 2007-08 season.
