Phantoms To Wear Purple On Saturday
October 17, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Adirondack Phantoms News Release
PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms will unveil their newly-designed purple third jerseys on Saturday, October 18 when they host the Binghamton Senators on VP Night at the Wachovia Spectrum at 7:05.
The jerseys are freshly remade in the new Rbk Edge style. They are nearly entirely purple, as opposed to jerseys of recent years that featured extensive white trim. They have orange and white striping up the sides and sleeves, and a black stripe around the bottom of the jersey. The back letters and numbers are white with orange and black trim, while the sleeve numbers are black with orange and white trim. There is a Flyers logo patch on each shoulder, and the front features the Remember the Spectrum patch as well as the Toyota sponsor patch. Photos of the jerseys are available at Phantomshockey.com.
Also on Saturday, the Phantoms take a stand for the second in command at Saturday night's game against the Binghamton Senators. While many in the country focus for the race for President, the Phantoms are giving Vice-Presidential candidates Joe Biden and Sarah Palin the recognition they deserve. The Phantoms are offering half-price admission to all residents of Delaware, Alaska, and all "hockey moms" who bring a child to the game. In addition, the Phantoms will grant free admission to anyone named Piper, Willow, Bristol, Track, Trig, Hunter, Beau or Ashley.
As part of the evening, representatives from the Republican and Democratic parties will be on the concourse. There will be a festive, patriotic theme with flags and red, white and blue hats. During the game, the Phantoms will do a Lucky Row lipstick giveaway, and there will be several other events and happenings over the course of the night.
Tickets are still available! Call 1-800-298-4200 or go online to phantomshockey.com for more details.
