Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that the team has reassigned forward Raitis Ivanans to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Ivanans, 27, had two different stints with the Canadiens and played in a total of four games this season, collecting no points and nine penalty minutes. He suffered a facial bone fracture, on October 11, which kept him inactive for one month. On November 11, he was assigned to the Bulldogs before being recalled by the Canadiens on January 24.

The 6'3'', 263-pound native of Riga, Latvia, has played in 26 games for the Bulldogs this season, collecting two goals and 65 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs next action will take place tonight, Friday, February 3 when they travel to Portland to face the Pirates. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
