Hershey Bears News Release

HERSHEY - The HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with WHYL 960AM in Carlisle that the station has joined the BEARS radio network effective for tonight's game in Philadelphia. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst and WHYL-AM general manager Chuck Hertzog.

"We are always looking to add stations to the BEARS radio network to serve our loyal fans", said BEARS play-by-play broadcaster John Walton. "WHYL 960AM gives our fans in Cumberland County a new way to listen to the games, and we look forward to our partnership with WHYL for a long time to come."

The multi-year agreement gives BEARS fans a new place to hear the games on over-the-air radio in Cumberland County. WHYL 960AM, serving Cumberland County and the surrounding area since 1944, will broadcast both home and away games to its listeners beginning with tonight's game at Philadelphia at 6:45 p.m.

"WHYL is thrilled to join the BEARS radio network, and to be part of the excitement that is HERSHEY BEARS Hockey", said WHYL general manager Chuck Hertzog. "We look forward to building a strong relationship with the BEARS and relish the chance to take part in another long-running central Pennsylvania tradition."

The BEARS travel to Philadelphia tonight before hosting the Phantoms Saturday night at GIANT Center. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR. Airtime Friday night on the BEARS radio network from south Philadelphia is at 6:45 p.m.
