IceMen Acquire Defenseman Luke Shiplo from Wichita

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Jacksonville Icemen, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Winnipeg Jets and AHL's Manitoba Moose announced Monday that the team has acquired defenseman Luke Shiplo from the Wichita Thunder in exchange for future considerations.

Shiplo, 24, joins the Icemen after recording a goal and five assists in 17 games played with the Thunder this season. The 5-10, 174-pound rookie blueliner totaled 29 points (13g, 16a) in 113 games during his four collegiate seasons at Quinnipiac University from 2015-2019. The Oakville, Ontario native won an ECAC title with Quinnipiac in 2016.

The Icemen return home to play host to the Florida Everblades this Wednesday (Dec. 11) at Veterans Memorial Arena. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. Fans can enjoy $2 select beer and wine throughout the night!
