10/28/05 Long Beach 2 vs. Fresno 5

The Ice Dogs dropped their home opener Friday night for the first time in seven years, giving up four goals and an assist to Fresno's Luke Curtin in the 5-2 loss. Ash Goldie scored for Long Beach and Christian Larrivee scored shorthanded, but the Ice Dogs fell to 0-4 for the first time in franchise history. Greg Hewitt made 28 saves in the loss and the Ice Dogs went 0-6 on the power play.

10/29/05 Long Beach 4 vs. Stockton 3 (SO)

The Ice Dogs finally got a win Saturday night, defeating the Stockton Thunder in the first ever matchup between the two teams. The score was 3-0 Long Beach with less than 6 minutes to go in the game before Stockton scored three goals in a span of 2:39 to tie it 3-3. After a scoreless overtime period, the Ice Dogs scored on all four of their shootout attempts to win the game. Cory Urquhart, Christian Larrivee, and Max Birbraer scored for the Ice Dogs and Ash Goldie was credited with the game winner in the shootout. Greg Hewitt made 26 saves for his first win of the season and the Ice Dogs finished 3-11 on the power play.

This Weeks' Games:

11/2/05 Long Beach vs. San Diego

The Ice Dogs and Gulls will faceoff Wednesday night at the Long Beach Arena in the first game of the season between these two arch rivals. Last season, the Ice Dogs finished with a record of 3-3-2 against San Diego and 2-1-1 at home. Since joining the ECHL, the Ice Dogs have gone 4-11-3 versus the Gulls.

11/4/05 Long Beach vs. Idaho

Friday night the Ice Dogs have a chance at a little revenge against the Idaho Steelheads, who beat them three straight in Boise to begin this season. It will be Idaho's first visit to Long Beach since the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs last April that saw them eliminated by Long Beach a season after winning the Kelly Cup.

11/5/05 Long Beach vs. Fresno

Saturday night will be the Ice Dogs' second chance at revenge this season when the host the Fresno Falcons. Fresno spoiled their home opener last week with a 5-2 win and currently leads the Pacific Division with 7 points.

OVERALL RECORD: 1-4-0
