
Ice Pilots Pick Up First Point of Season

The Ice Pilots picked up their first point of the season with a shootout loss last Friday night at Greenville 3-2 and also lost at home on Saturday night vs. Augusta 3-2.
The Ice Pilots jumped out to a 2-0 lead at Greenville on Friday night. Brian Collins and Brendan Cook scored goals for the Ice Pilots. Brock Radunske scored for Greenville to make it 2-1 and Colin Pepperall scored to tie the game with less than two minutes to play in regulation time. The shootout went six rounds with Colin Pepperall scoring in the sixth round to give the Grrrowl the win. Frederic Cloutier tied an Ice Pilots record for most saves in a game during the regular season with 59. Cloutier picked up the shootout loss in goal and Mike Brodeur was the winning goalie for Greenville. The Ice Pilots had 23 shots in the game compared to Greenville's 61.
The Ice Pilots retuned home Saturday night and jumped out to another 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Corey Neilson and Nick Lindberg. Augusta tied the game in the second period on goals by Sam Ftorek and Brian Passmore. Joe Pereira scored the game winning goal on the power play in the third period. Todd Ford was the losing goalie for the Ice Pilots and Trevor Cunning picked up the win in goal for Augusta. The Ice Pilots had 42 shots on goal and Augusta had 37.
The Ice Pilots have a record of 0-3-1 for one point and is winless for the first time after the first four games since the 2000-2001 season. It was the Ice Pilots fifth season under head coach Wayne Cashman as the Ice Pilots lost their first four games of the season before winning the next seven in a row.
Ice Pilots play home this Friday and Saturday night vs. Columbia Inferno at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots will play home to the Columbia Inferno this Friday and Saturd ay night at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots have an all time record of 3-2-0 vs. Columbia including a record of 1-2-0 at home and 2-0-0 on the road. The Ice Pilots had a record of 1-1 vs. Columbia last year with both games played at home.
Ice Pilots stickers to the first 2,000 fans on Friday, November 4. The first 2,000 fans will receive an Ice Pilots sticker who attend the game this Friday when the Ice Pilots play Columbia at 7:05 p.m.
Sea Wolves Appreciation Day is Saturday, November 5: The Ice Pilots home game this Saturday vs. Columbia has been designated as "Sea Wolves Appreciation Day." Members of the Sea Wolves staff will be in attendance selling "Hurricane Katrina Sea Wolves T-Shirts" and raffling off Sea Wolves hockey sticks which survived the hurricane. Former Sea Wolves players Chris Cava, Nick Greenough and Jay Legault played for the Inferno. Sea Wolves mascot, Hook, will be on hand to meet and greet fans. Dodge Player of the Week: Forward Brendan Cook has been nominated as the Ice Pilots Player of the Week. Cook scored a goal and an assist in his first game Friday night at Greenville and picked up an assist at home on Saturday night for one goal and two assists. Cook had 8 shots in the game on Friday night. Frederic Cloutier has been nominated for goalie of the week. Cloutier stopped 59 out of 61 shots in the Ice Pilots shootout loss at Greenville Friday night. The 59 saves tied an Ice Pilots regular season record for most saves in a game by a goalie. Frederic Clout ier has been named the Dodge Player of the Week.

GEICO Three Stars of the Game: GEICO will be sponsoring the Ice Pilots Three Stars of the Game once again on the Ice Pilots Hockey Network this season and at every home game. Three lucky fans at home games will receive a t-shirt from the GEICO Three Stars of the Game this year. Ice Pilots Offer Pay Per View Webcasts with B2 Networks this season. The Ice Pilots home and away games are available for viewing on the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com . The Ice Pilots have partnered with B2 Networks based in Las Vegas, Nevada on the pay per view broadcast.
Fans will be able to click on the "Watch the Game Live" icon at the Ice Pilots website to view and listen to the game. The broadcast is available to fans with high speed DSL or Cable modem internet connection and the charge is $6 per game.
