Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads Hockey Club sits atop the league with 10 points, leads the league in scoring, averaging 4.80 goals per game, and has an undefeated record to kick off the 2005-06 season. After sweeping the Long Beach Ice Dogs at home opening weekend, the Steelheads took to the road for their first trip and beat Fresno in a pair of games, 7-6 in a shootout Saturday and 5-3 Sunday.

The five-game winning streak to start the season ties a franchise high set in 2001-02 when Idaho, then a member of the West Coast Hockey League, also won it first five games. 5-0-0 is the best start for the Steelheads since joining the ECHL in its Kelly Cup Championship 2003-04 season.
