Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans headed on the road for the first time this season with games against the Johnstown Chiefs and Reading Royals
On Friday at Cambria County War Memorial, the Titans fought back from a two-goal deficit and tied the score 2-2 with the help of a power play goal by Scott May and an even-strength tally by Mathieu Brunelle. After a scoreless overtime, Brunelle and Chris Thompson lit the lamp in the shootout while goaltender Scott Stirling was a perfect 4-for-4 against the Chiefs' shooters to record the 3-2 win.
The next night in Reading, the Titans allowed the opposing team to get the first marker once again as Eric Werner scored his first professional goal in the second period to give the Royals a 1-0 edge. Trenton would come back again to tie it when Brunelle notched his second goal in as many games with under five minutes gone in the third. In the overtime, Rich Peverley found a loose puck in front of the Titans net and shot it home to send Trenton to its first loss of the season.
At 2-0-1, the Titans are in a tie for third place in the North Division with the Reading Royals.
Trenton begins a three-game homestand on Wednesday, November 2 at 7:00pm against the Victoria Salmon Kings. The Titans then host the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday, November 4 at 7:30pm.
