ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Chris Beckford-Tseu stopped all 23 shots he faced for his second shutout as a pro and Barrett Heisten scored two goals to help Alaska cruise to a 4-0 win over Bakersfield on a KeyBank Sunday in front of 3,694 at Sullivan Arena.

By taking five of a possible six points in the three-game series, the Aces improve to 4-1-1, just one point behind first place Idaho in the West Division. The Condors dropped to 2-2, good enough for second place in the five-team Pacific, where both San Diego and Long Beach have started 1-4.

Chris Minard scored the only goal in an otherwise even first period, banking a shot off rookie goaltender Ryan Cyr at the 10:21 mark. A penalty-filled second period followed, with the teams skating three-on-three at one point before Heisten blasted a one-timer by Cyr at 13:31, assisted by Mike Scott in a four-on-four situation.

Matt Shasby broke the game open four minutes into the third period by following his own rebound, again with the teams skating four-on-four, and ripping a snap shot by Cyr's blocker for a 3-0 lead. Heisten capped the scoring by scoring off the rush with a wrist shot from the right circle with 9:12 left in the game, Alaska's third goal in 38 power play chances this season.

The Aces hit the road for the first time this season next weekend, with Friday and Saturday night games scheduled for the "E" Center in Salt Lake City. Alaska will meet Utah (3-3) for the first time ever Friday at 5:05 p.m. AST. The Grizzlies are coached by Jason Christie, who matched wits with Aces head coach Davis Payne in each of the last two years when he was the bench boss of Peoria, then an ECHL foe and now Alaska's AHL affiliate. All games, home and away, will be broadcast live on KFQD AM 750 and at www.alaskaaces.com. In addition, all games (excluding road contests at Long Beach and Victoria) will be available on a pay-per-view basis on the internet, courtesy of B2 Networks.
