STORM NOTES

Offense Powers The Storm! Toledo has scored 22 goals in the first 5 games of the season (Average of 4.4 per contest, which is second to Idaho in the league). Only Idaho (24) and Utah (26, but has played one more game) have scored more than Toledo.

Scooter, Magowan and Todd! Both Scooter Smith and Ken Magowan have continued their hot starts to the season as each collected a point in all three games this past week. Both forwards are tied for second in the ECHL in scoring with 10 points (each has 4 goals and 6 assists). Scooter is also tied for first in game winning goals with 2, and third in the league in shots (26). Todd Jackson is fourth in scoring with 8 points (4g,4a).

Six is Twice Nice! Toledo lit the lamp six times on Saturday in the 6-2 win over Johnstown. It was the second time this season that the Storm have put 6 on the board, the other being opening night (6-5 win over Dayton). Last year, Toledo scored 6 goals in just 3 games all year.

Shooting Gallery! The Storm continues to the send out the rubber. Through five games this season, the Storm has taken 185 shots (average of 37.00 per game, which is third most in the ECHL). Only Columbia (209) and Utah (194) have attempted more. On the flipside, the Storm is allowing the 6th fewest shots per game in the league (28.60).

Power Play! Toledo has 8 power play goals in 42 opportunities this season. The Storm rank 10th in the ECHL at 19.00%.

Penalty Kill! The Storm is ranked 12th in the league in kill percentage at 82.5%. Toledo has allowed 7 goals in 40 times shorthanded this year.

STORM WATCH

The Toledo Storm Coach's Show is this Tuesday evening from 6-7pm at the Maumee Bay Brewing Company inside the Oliver House, Downtown Toledo. Head Coach Nick Vitucci and Storm Captain P.J. Martin will join Matt Melzak for insight and conversation on the start of the 2005-06 season and what lies ahead for the Storm. The Storm Coach's Show can be heard live on Dominion 1520 JAMZ, which is the home of Toledo Storm Hockey.

The Storm returns to action this Friday night at Wheeling. This is the first of thirteen meetings this season against the Nailers. Wheeling is 3-1-0 on the year, and is just one point behind Toledo in the North Division standings. Sean Collins leads the Nailers in scoring with 4 goals and 6 assists.

Saturday night features the first ever meeting between Toledo and Victoria. The Salmon Kings started play in the 2004-05 and finished its first year 15-52-5. The Salmon Kings used to be the Baton Rouge Kingfish and prior to that the Erie Panthers.

Sunday features the first of 12 meetings this year against the Reading Royals. Reading is 2-0-1 to start the 05-06 season. Goaltender Cody Rudkowsky has started the year 2-0-0 with a 1.44 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.

STORM PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

Ken Magowan (2 goals - 4 assists = 6 points) Ken was solid all week long. Both of Ken's goals came in the third period of Toledo's come from behind 5-4 overtime win Wednesday night in Johnstown.

STORM GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:

Chad Collins (1-0-1, 3.40 gaa, 0.867 save%) Chad was solid in both games he appeared in this week. In Friday's shootout loss, Chad stopped four of the five shooters he faced.
