Grizzlies Sign Former ECHL All-Star Bembridge

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced today that the team has signed forward Garett Bembridge.

The Grizzlies are a proud affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

The 26-year-old Bembridge joins Utah after playing 24 games earlier this year in Germany.

In 103 career ECHL games with Idaho, Las Vegas and Augusta, the Saskatchewan native has tallied 123 points. (59 goals, 64 assists.) He finished third in the ECHL in goals scored (36) and tenth in points (75) with Idaho in 2005-2006 despite spending 21 games in the AHL. Bembridge was named an ECHL All-Star in 2006 with Idaho.

239 of his 416 career games have been played in the AHL.

Bembridge was drafted by the New York Rangers in 1999 and the Calgary Flames in 2001.

The Utah Grizzlies complete their seven-game road trip Wednesday in Idaho at 7:10 p.m. The Grizzlies return to the E-Center Friday and Saturday hosting Idaho to open a six-game home stand. All Utah home games start 7:05 p.m.
