Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that organization has named forward Matt Hersneisen as the team's captain. Herneisen, a fifth year pro from Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, has played seventeen games for Reading this year, scoring a goal and assisting on nine others (ten points), while picking up sixty-three penalty minutes. The Royals continue a four game road trip tonight at 7:00pm when the team will face the Dayton Bombers at the E.J. Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. The Royals return home on Friday night against the Wheeling Nailers when the organization will host Teacher Appreciation Night and the first 1500 fans will receive an 'R-Team/R-Town' note cube. The game night broadcast tonight will kick off with the pre-game warm up show at 6:30 pm on ESPN Radio 1240 in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals website (www.royalshockey.com).
