Cyclones Daoust Named CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for December

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati Cyclones third-year right wing Jean-Michel Daoust has been named CCM TACKS ECHL Player of the Month for December. Daoust, 24, posted 20 points during the month to claim the honor. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.

Daoust, a native of Valleyfield, Quebec, is only the fourth player in ECHL history to win the Player of the Month award twice in the same season. The 5-foot-7, 170 pounder had a league-best 14 goals during the month. Jean-Michel had a ten-game goal scoring streak during December, including back-to-back hat tricks against Johnstown (Dec. 16) and Wheeling (Dec. 19).

For the season, Daoust leads the ECHL in points (49), goals (26) and game winning goals (eight-tied for lead).

Daoust played last season with the Cyclones, netting a team-high 32 goals with 62 points. He spent his rookie season as a professional with Danbury (UHL) in 2005-06, helping the Thrashers advanced to the Colonial Cup finals before losing.

Cincinnati is currently the leader of the North Division with a 25-6-3 record, the club's best 34 game mark in team history.

The Cincinnati Cyclones play a pair of road games this weekend (Saturday at Elmira, 7:30pm on 96 Rock and Sunday at Reading, 5pm on 96 Rock), before returning home for a January 16 game against Dayton.
