
Grizzlies Drop Last Minute Decision To Stockton

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies fell 6-5 in regulation to Stockton Friday night at the E-Center before 7,163 fans. Stockton scored the game-winning goal with less than 15 seconds left to go in regulation off of a Utah turnover.
Utah took their only lead of the game 1-0 46 seconds into the contest on an Olivier Labelle (25) goal. Utah though never led after Stockton tied the game at one 6:56 into the first period.
Trailing 5-3 entering the third, Utah rallied back with a shorthanded goal from Scott Burt (27; 9:45) then a four-on-four goal from Chris Gaudet (8; 12:18) to tie the game. Utah had a chance on the power-play in the final five minutes but was unable to score before the costly turnover.
James Sanford (9) and Keith Johnson (27) also scored goals for Utah in the game.
Burt and Sirianni had their second-straight multiple-point games for Utah.
Goaltender Wylie Rogers stopped 36 of 41 shots in the loss.
The Grizzlies wrap up the 2007-2008 regular season Saturday at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Utah has clinched a playoff berth for the second time in three seasons. The ECHL's Kelly Cup playoffs are scheduled to begin Sunday, April 13 in Fresno with the Grizzlies scheduled to play at home in the postseason's first-round Wednesday, April 16; Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19*.
