Ice Pilots grounded 5-1 by Sea Wolves in season finale

BILOXI, MS - Jason Beeman opened the game with his second goal in as many nights as the Sea Wolves swept the home-and-home series with Pensacola with a 5-1 win on Saturday night.

Beeman shoveled home a centering pass from Andy Contois at 2:21 of the first and the Sea Wolves never looked back. As the final 30 seconds of the first period ticked off, Zbynek Hrdel's blast from the top of the right wing circle found the net at 19:42 to give Mississisppi a 2-0 lead.

Andy Contois notched his 21st of the season on the power play when he tapped in the rebound of Ryan Menei's shot at 7:59 of the second period.

The Sea Wolves extended their lead to three when Jason Tejchma's backhander from an impossible angle beat Pensacola netminder Cam Ellsworth at 9:58 of the third. Mark Hurtubise's blast from the top of the slot on a three-on-one rush gave the Sea Wolves a 5-1 lead at 12:49 of the third.

Tickets for the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs are currently on sale. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 228.275.WOLF or by stopping by the Sea Wolves office located on the lower level of the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

Single game ticket pricing for the 2008 Kelly Cup Playoffs is the same as during the regular season, with tickets starting as low as $10. Fans who have already purchased playoff packages can pick them up at the final Sea Wolves home game on Friday against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at the customer service table located on the concourse behind section 14.

Mississippi enters the Kelly Cup Playoffs as the eighth seed in the South Division, and will face the Texas Wildcatters in the best-of-five first round series. The series will begin with a pair of games at Ford Arena in Beaumont, Texas, on April 9 and 10. The Sea Wolves will return home to host game three of the series on Saturday, April 12, at 7:05. Game four, if necessary, will be Sunday, April 13 at 5:05 p.m. at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Game five will be at Ford Arena in Beaumont on April 16.
