RoadRunners' Kelly Cup Playoff Update

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners fell back into ninth place in the National Conference Friday as the Stockton Thunder defeated the Utah Grizzlies 6-5 at the "E"-Center in West Valley City, Utah in the middle game of their season-ending three-game series.

The RoadRunners (24-38-9) have 57 points, one point fewer than the Thunder, and can clinch their second consecutive Kelly Cup Playoff berth with a win in their regular season finale Saturday at Las Vegas coupled with a Stockton loss in regulation at Utah.

Should the RoadRunners clinch a playoff berth, they will be the eighth seed and begin the National Conference Quarterfinals at 7:05 p.m. Friday, April 11 against the Las Vegas Wranglers from the Orleans Arena.

The Bakersfield Condors secured the seventh seed with a 6-3 victory at Las Vegas Friday.

The RoadRunners visit the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in the 2007-08 regular season finale. Catch all the action live on Independent 1310 KXAM beginning with "RoadRunners Countdown" at 6:45 p.m.
