Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

The Cincinnati Cyclones lost their game Saturday night, but they won the Brabham Cup for having the ECHL's best record.

The Cyclones dropped a 2-1 decision tonight at Trenton, finishing the regular season with a 55-12-5 record and 115 points--the second-most wins and second-most points in the 20 year history of the ECHL.

The Texas Wildcatters had an opportunity to claim the league's top record, but dropped a 5-3 decision at Florida tonight. Texas finished the season with a 52-9-11 mark--also with 115 points.

Because Cincinnati had the higher win total--it claims the Brabham Cup and home ice advantage for all series in the upcoming Kelly Cup playoffs.

The Cyclones open the Kelly Cup playoffs on Friday night (April 11) at 7:30pm against either Johnstown or Dayton at U.S. Bank Arena. It will be the first game of the best of seven North Division semifinal series. Tickets will be available at the door.
