
Grant and Killeen Reassigned to Wheeling

WHEELING, WV --The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned defenseman Alex Grant and goaltender Patrick Killeen from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL) to the Wheeling Nailers, it was announced on Wednesday.
Grant, 22, returns to Wheeling after appearing in four games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton going scoreless and a plus-2 rating. The native of Antigonish, Nova Scotia has registered five points (3g, 2a) in 11 games played with Wheeling this season. The 6'3", 190-lb defenseman was selected by Pittsburgh in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Grant played four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Saint John and Shawinigan.
Killeen, 20, rejoins the Nailers where he has posted a record of 18-16-2, a goals against average of 2.84, and a save percentage of .902 in 39 games this season. The Carp, Ontario native also has three shutouts, while representing the Nailers at the ECHL All-Star Classic in January. The 6'4", 204-lb goaltender, made his AHL debut with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in relief on January 23 against the Charlotte Checkers. Killeen was selected by the Pittsburgh in the sixth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Grant and Killeen are expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Nailers take on the Reading Royals. Grant has scored two of his three goals this season at the Sovereign Center in Reading. The Nailers return home to WesBanco Arena to battle the Toledo Walleye on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. Thursday is College Night! $8 tickets to all college students with college ID. The game also features $1 hot dogs and special drink considerations through the 1st intermission. There will also be a free post game concert featuring Mace Ballard!
On Saturday April 2, the Nailers will wrap up their 2010-11 regular season against the Toeldo Walleye. It is Fan Appreciation Night with prizes being given away throughout the night. The game is also NFL Lockout Lallapalooza, fans may receive $5 off admission by wearing an NFL Jersey to the game. Game time is set for 7:35pm. Fans my purchase tickets to both games for just $25.
