For the second straight week, school will be in session as the Kalamazoo Wings host the reigning Kelly Cup Champion, Cincinnati Cyclones in the first of two Education Day Games, presented by RxOptical, Bounceland, Edison Electric and Putter's Family Fun Center. On the season, Kalamazoo is 8-3-1-1 versus Cincinnati.
Clinching the North Division on Sunday with a 3-2 overtime thriller over the Elmira Jackals, Kalamazoo has clinched home ice in round one of the Kelly Cup playoffs. With 84 points, Kalamazoo is in third place in the Eastern Conference, five points behind second place Reading Royals.
The Cyclones enter Wings Stadium hoping to inch closer to a post-season berth. With two games remaining in their regular season, Cincinnati has 74 points are tied for seven place in the Eastern Conference with Elmira and four points ahead of the Toledo Walleye, who have three games remaining.

Yesterday the K-Wings released forward Jay Sprague. Sprague, who was injured a majority of the season, played only four games this season with Kalamazoo.

The K-Wings clinched their second straight North Division title with a 3-2 overtime win Sunday against Elmira. The win ensures Kalamazoo home ice advantage in round one of the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
