
Wranglers Shoot Down Condors

Las Vegas, Nev.-The Las Vegas Wranglers (37-27-5) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (40-26-3) 5-2 in front of 2,909 at the Orleans Arena. Wrangler Tyler Mosienko had two-goals and one-assist in the win. Michael Ouzas earned the victory stopping 25 of 27 Condor shots and improving his record to 19-17-2. Brian Stewart took the loss for Bakersfield making 27 saves on 31 shots. Stewart now falls to 19-6-1 on the season. With the win, the Wranglers ended the Condors' 11-game winning streak.
Bakersfield scored first when Bobby Robins made a nice move to score a backhand goal, his 13th of the season, at 13:32 of the first period. Vyacheslav Trukhno earned the only assist. Las Vegas countered with 2-quick goals to end the period. First, Tyler Mosienko redirected a slap shot from Aaron Power into the back of the net on the power play at 16:24 of the first period. Power and Craig Switzer got assists on Mosienko's 12th goal of the season. Then, at 18:15 of the period, Blair Riley scored his 18th goal of the year. Ryan Huddy and Mosienko each earned assists on the rookie's goal and Las Vegas led 2-1 after the first period.
Both teams were scoreless in the middle frame. The Condors fought hard early in the third period when Adam Naglich scored his 17th goal of the year. Phil Paquet got the only assist at 2:56 of the third. Tyler Mosienko scored his second power play goal of the night when he found the back of the net at 6:49 of the final period. Power got his second helper of the game on Mosienko's 13th goal of the year. Just 28-seconds later, Rob Smith redirected a shot from Kevin Schaeffer and scored his first ever professional goal. Schaeffer and Blake Gallagher each had assists in the rookie's goal at 7:17. Blair Riley capped off the scoring with an empty net goal at 18:56. Huddy and Barry Goers got the assists on Riley's 19th goal of the year. The Wranglers defeated the Bakersfield Condors, 5-2.
Las Vegas heads to Stockton to take on the Thunder tomorrow night at 7:00 pm. The Wranglers will conclude their regular season with games Friday and Saturday when they host the Thunder. Both games start at 7:05 pm.
The Las Vegas Wranglersé are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.
