Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
KALAMAZOO, Michigan - The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that they have claimed forward Sam D'Agostino off of waivers.
On February 10, D'Agostino was dealt to the Wheeling Nailers along with Christiaan Minella in exchange for Casey Pierro-Zabotel. While with the Nailers, the Medford, Massachusetts native posted one goal and two penalty minutes in 14 games. He was placed on waivers and claimed by Cincinnati today.
Prior to getting traded, the six-foot, 200-pound forward was one of the Cyclones top rookies. He amassed 12 points (10 goals, 2 assists) and 10 penalty minutes in 39 games and was the team leader in game-winning goals (3) at the time of the deal. Prior to going pro, D'Agostino played collegiately at UMass-Lowell and UMass-Amherst - collecting four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in 42 games.
D'Agostino will join the rest of the Cyclones as they wrap up their 2010-11 road schedule with another 10:30am meeting against the Kalamazoo Wings later morning at Wings stadium. Fans can hear all the action on the Cyclones Radio Network starting at 10:15am.
The defending Kelly Cup Champions will return to U.S. Bank Arena this Friday, April 1 for City Barbeque Fan Appreciation Night. The final game of the regular season will feature $1 John Morrell Hotdogs, $1 Donatos Pizza, $1 Soda, and $.50 Popcorn. 2011-12 season tickets are on sale NOW!
