Atlanta notched the game's first goal and only tally of the first period with 5:09 left in the game. Derek Nesbitt took advantage of a Utah neutral zone turnover and sprung in on a breakaway against the Grizzlies netminder, Mark Owuya. The Atlanta Captain registered his league-leading 24th goal of the season with a wrist shot past the glove of the Swedish goaltender. Zack Phillips, who created the turnover at center ice, got credit for the lone assist and collected his first point as a Gladiator.

After a scoreless second period, the game headed to the third with Atlanta leading 1-0. Gladiators goalie Matt Ginn made save after save in the third to keep his team in the lead into the final minute of the game. Tyler Murovich netted an empty net goal with under 30 seconds to go to give Atlanta the victory. Ginn was the star of the contest for Atlanta as the rookie made 29 saves to earn his third career professional shutout.

Atlanta in the win took five of a possible six points from their three-game stint in Utah. The Gladiators now have a record of 28-18-4-2 and 62 points on the season. Utah with the loss falls to 29-20-2-2 and remain at 62 points in the standings.
