Wichita, KS - Kale Kerbashian netted the overtime winner with 13 seconds remaining in overtime to complete the Wichita Thunder's (11-31-10) 3-2 comeback win over the Idaho Steelheads (27-20-6) on Saturday night at Intrust Bank Arena.

With 19 seconds remaining in the third period and the Steelheads holding a 2-1 lead, Kenton Miller released a wrist shot from the right point that ricocheted past Jack Campbell and into the net to tie the game at 2-2. Miller was credited with his 12th goal of the season.

At 3:05 of a back-and-forth overtime, the Thunder got the last opportunity. Jefferson Dahl received a stretch pass through the neutral zone but fell down just over the offensive blue line. Landon Oslanski picked up the puck and moved in 2-on-1 on Campbell with Kerbashian, feeding the puck across for Kerbashian's eighth of the year.

The Steelheads took a lead into the third period despite giving up the game's first goal, a wrist shot from defenseman Martin Nemcik at 7:18 of the second for his third of the year. The Steelheads responded with a strong effort behind the net by Andrew Carroll at 9:41, working his way to the front of the net and forcing a delayed penalty on Wichita. The penalty was never called, as Joe Basaraba cashed in Carroll's efforts for his third of the season to tie the game 1-1.

Just 2:58 later, the Steelheads grabbed a lead on a 2-on-1 rush. Radoslav Illo forced a neutral zone turnover and swooped in on Wichita goaltender David Shantz. Illo fired a shot that trickled through Shantz, allowing Andre Morrissette to finish the play for his ninth goal.

The Steelheads were 20-1-1 on the season entering Saturday's game when leading after two periods, but the Thunder pressured the Steelheads and spent much of the final frame in the Idaho zone, outshooting the Steelheads 14-5.

Shantz, who came into the game in relief just 19 seconds into the game after Grant Rollheiser was injured in a crease collision, made 33 saves to earn the win.

This is the first time the Steelheads have gone consecutive games without a win since December 9th and 10th.

The Steelheads and Thunder finish their two-game set Sunday night at Intrust Bank with puck-drop scheduled for 4:05pm MT. The game is available on 1350AM KTIK and ECHLTV.
