THE MATCHUP

The South Carolina Stingrays battle the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for the third time this week and for the second straight night. Tonight's game is the eighth meeting this season and for the fourth matchup on the road for South Carolina. South Carolina is 2-4-1-0 on the season against Greenville. Each team has won a game on the road this week, with Greenville beating the Stingrays 4-2 on Tuesday at the North Charleston Coliseum, and South Carolina knocking off the Swamp Rabbits, 4-1, last night on the road.

LAST TIME OUT

The Stingrays topped the Swamp Rabbits 4-1 last night. The club jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening period to earn the victory. The win was the club's first victory in Greenville this season and seventh win in the past 10 games. Vitek Vanecek had 31 saves, and the Stingrays got goals from Stephan Vigier, Bobby Shea and Brett Cameron.

EIGHT IS GREAT

Last night, Stingrays forward Brett Cameron notched a goal and two assists, extending his point streak to eight games. For rookie leaders, Cameron is ranked fifth in points, goals and assists. On the season, Cameron has 17 goals and 24 assists for 41 points in 46 games with the Stingrays. With his goal last night, he leads the Stingrays in goals this season.

STEPHAN UP

In last night's contest, South Carolina forward Stephan Vigier notched two goals in the first period, helping the Stingrays to a 4-1 win over the Rabbits. On the season, Vigier has 14 goals and 21 assists for 35 points in 49 games with the Stingrays, good for third on the team in goals, assists and points.

LEWINGTON'S BACK

The Stingrays announced today that defenseman Tyler Lewington has been reassigned to the club from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL). Lewington, a seventh round selection of the Washington Capitals in the 2013 NHL Draft, rejoins the Stingrays after appearing in 19 games with Hershey, scoring three points (two goals, one assist) to go along with 53 penalty minutes. In 12 games this year with South Carolina, Lewington has notched three points (one goal, two assists). The 21-year-old defenseman scored his first professional goal in a 3-0 win at Atlanta on November 21. Lewington played four years of junior hockey with the WHL's Medicine Hat Tigers prior to turning pro, scoring 112 points (18 goals, 94 assists) in 250 career games.

MASCOT MANIA SUNDAY

The Stingrays and Swamp Rabbits meet again on Sunday in North Charleston. It's Mascot Mania, featuring over a dozen of Cool Ray's friends! It's a Crews Subaru and Charleston County Parks Family Days game featuring $5 Kids Tickets and $5 Kids Meals. CARTA is also giving away Battle Rattlz noise makers to the first 1,000 fans! After the game, fans may head to King Street Grille-Northwoods for a Postgame Meet and Greet with Stingrays players including Brett Cameron, Bobby Shea, Joey Leach and Joe Devin.
