TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (11-8-0-2) face the Colorado Eagles (11-6-0-0) for the fifth consecutive match between these two clubs. Ontario exploded for a season-high three power-play goals against the Eagles on Friday, taking advantage of eight opportunities with the man-advantage.
SPECIAL TEAMS POWER:
With last night's three goals on the man advantage, Ontario managed to climb the ladder among the league's top teams on the power-play, both overall (19.0%/10th) and at home (20.7/11th). Despite surrendering a power-play goal to the Eagles, the Reign still maintain the best penalty kill at home in the entire ECHL (93.9%).
WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU:
With Ralfs Freibergs' recall to the St. John's IceCaps on Friday afternoon, the door was opened for Dennis Brown to see his first action at home since Oct. 26, and also receive additional playing time. The Cypress, Calif. native began the match paired with Matt Register, and did not look out of place, picking up an assist (and second career pro point) on Judd Blackwater's power-play goal in the second period.
COMEBACK KIDS:
Despite surrendering an early goal to the Eagles on Friday, the Reign did what no team could previously do this season, and mounted a comeback against a team that prior to the game had gone a perfect 8-0-0-0 when scoring first. The win for Ontario represents the first time this season that the team has pulled off a victory when surrendering the first goal (1-6-0-1).
ARSENEAU MAKES PRESENCE FELT:
Friday marked Vincent Arseneau's home debut, and the left wing provided plenty of entertainment for the fans in attendance, as he was involved in Ontario's first score at 14:48 of the first period, which sparked a run of four straight goals, and set a new season-high for the team with 18 penalty minutes.
