Tonight's Matchup: Tonight the Cyclones host another big North Division bout as they welcome in the Kalamazoo Wings to U.S. Bank Arena. The two games of this season series have provided some fireworks on offense, with a combined 20 goals scored. The Clones took the last meeting by a 7-3 final in late November and will look to repeat that performance before embarking on a three-game road trip next week.

Scouting the Wings: Nick Bootland's club broke a nine-game losing streak last night by soundly beating the Evansville IceMen 5-2 and now sit two points back of Cincinnati with a record of 7-10-1-1. Curtis Valk and Sacha Guimond are tied for the team lead in points, with 16 points apiece. Guimond's offensive numbers are good for a second place tie among all ECHL defensemen. Goaltender Joel Martin has been the go-to-guy in net for the Wings and has amassed a 6-6-1-1 record with a goals-against average of 3.21. Rookie Oscar Dansk, a recently-assigned Columbus Blue Jackets prospect, is winless in three games with a GAA of 3.63.

Last Time Out: Another night where bonus hockey loomed large, the Komets defeated the Cyclones in a shootout by a 3-2 final score in front of 2,420 at U.S. Bank Arena on Friday night. Josh Shalla scored another last-minute goal to tie the game and help Cincinnati force overtime, while Byron Froese added two assists to run his point-scoring streak to nine consecutive games.

Shutting the Door: When the Cyclones earn the lead through two periods of play, they have been nearly impossible to beat. Through 17 games, they are 6-1-0-1 in such situations.

Shooting Shutdown: The Cyclones have remained one of the stingiest teams in the league in terms of shots-against. They are allowing an average of 26.53 shots per game, which ranks fourth-fewest among all 28 ECHL teams. Their opponent has reached the 30-shot plateau just twice in the last 10 games.
